Carbon management

My expertise in CarbCarbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) combines policy insight and practical experience to advance effective climate solutions.

I have worked extensively across the CCUS landscape in Norway, combining project leadership, network building, and public engagement. My experience includes assisting the Borg CO₂ cluster as Project Manager (2019–2021), where I helped deliver a comprehensive feasibility study, followed by two years as Network Manager for CCUS Norway. Since 2021, I have served as Project Manager for KAN - the industrial network Climate Cure for waste incineration. I have assisted in several CCUS-projects across Norway, and also moderated Tekna’s annual CO₂ Conference for the past four years, alongside contributing to a range of additional CCUS initiatives.

Below I have written about projects I have been part of, from I startet working with CCUS in 2018 and till today…

Past Projects

Borg CO2 - CCS cluster in Østfold, Norway, Feasibility study

In 2019 - 2021 Borg CO2 mapped the opportunity to develop CCS for an industrial cluster, supported by CLIMIT. The study had 18 partners representing process industry, waste management, logistics, energy, carbon capture technology, technology providers and academia. Borg CO2 was led by Pål Mikkelsen, and I, Camilla Brox, served as Project Manager.

Borg CO2 was the first cluster to sign a MoU with Northern Lights.

I represented the cluster at Process21s CCS-expert panel who put together the report Karbonfangst in 2021.

In 2021 I took part in the establishing of CCUS Norway, a non-commercial member organisation that aims to build competence and share experiences about environmentally and resource-efficient capture, use and storage of CO2. I served as Network Manager for the cluster for two years. The cluster was supported by Østfold County Municipality.

Through those years we had members join, we hosted several network-meetings where the members shared knowledge and experiences and we worked together and finalised a position paper that was published and shared with relevant stakeholders.

KAN - Climate Cure for Waste Incineration - industrial cooperation

In 2021 KAN was established. KAN is an industrial collaboration consisting of the partners Lunera Energi (former Statkraft Varme), Forus Energigjenvinning, BIR Ressurs, Returkraft, Hafslund Celsio, FREVAR, Eidsiva Bioenergi, SAREN Energy and Tafjord Varme, all of which have Norwegian waste incineration plants with activities related to the capture, storage and/or utilisation of CO2 (CCUS). I have served as their Project Manager since the establishment, and KAN has worked on several project that has had support from CLIMIT.

Tekna’s CO₂ Conference is a leading Norwegian meeting place for the CCUS community, bringing together industry, researchers, and policymakers to discuss technology, business models, and policy frameworks. I have moderated the conference for the past four years, contributing to dialogue and knowledge sharing across the field, and look forward to moderating the next which is in January 2027.

Gassnova: Knowledge Sharing 2026

In April 2026 the Gassnova’s Knowledge Sharing 2026 summit took place in Sandefjord. It is an international meeting place for the CCUS community, bringing together industry, policymakers, and researchers to exchange insights and accelerate progress from ambition to real-world deployment. The event focuses on practical challenges such as value chain integration, infrastructure, and scaling solutions. I contributed as a session moderator, facilitating dialogue and knowledge exchange across key stakeholders.
